The largest scaled freshwater fish in the world, Pirarucu reach lengths of up to 3 metres and weigh up to 200 kg. They are members of the Family Osteoglossidae, along with another more commonly known South American fish, the much smaller Arowana. Found in the Amazon River, Pirarucus are top freshwater predators that hunt other fish. |
