Blacktip Reef Shark (Carcharhinus melanopterus) One species of sharks commonly found in the tropical reef region is the blacktip reef shark. This is a non-aggressive shark. However, some cases about the attack to fishermen and waders have been reported. The spear fishermen often hang up their catch along their belly. Blood from the fish will attrack the blacktip reef shark. This is the very common situation where the blacktip misbite the fishermen.
